how much power do i need to run a coffee machine from a mobile van?

HI there any help would be most welcome, my brother and i are about to start our business and are a little stuck on how much power we need and what would be best looking to run a fridge, machine coffee grinder and maybe a radio?

The Coffee pot should tell you the wattage on it chances are about 1500 to 1800 watts and then a Small fridge could run as much as 500 watts more after start up. I do not think that a 1500 watt generator would work for you more on the lines of 2000 watt or 2.5 kw generator or even a 2000 watt converter and a small 1500 watt generator would do

Coffee aficionados: What brand of coffee do you buy for brewing at home? Do you have a grinder? And what…?

… method do you use to brew it?

I pretty much have to have fresh-ground, so I buy whole beans at the supermarket, but I use a 12-cup drip coffee maker… I know it is not the best method, but we need volume! Have a cup on me!

By the way, I do have a French press coffee maker, and the little stove-top one… but I forget what it’s called…

I buy store roasted beans and grind at home. Then I use fresh, filtered water and a coffee machine for a regular brew or an espresso machine for espresso drinks.

However, usually the beans are only the beginning. You can add a little of a number of spices - individually or a blend - to give your coffee a delicious and unique flavor. Try green cardamom, coriander seed, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, anise, chili powder (?!?!?!). Put a bit of these in with the beans when you grind and fall in love with coffee all over again!

not bothered if its manual (Think they look quite authentic), or electrical just performance - needed to grind a nice fine even grind for espresso machine. going to use 4/5 roast most of the time.

I wouldnt’t go for a blade grinder, specially if you are making espresso. Because when making espresso, pressure is the one of the most critical thing (ideally 9 - 9.5 bar of pressure depending on your beans)
And with grinders that use blade, you wont be able to get a consistent grind to finetune your tamping for your espresso.
I would strongly advise you to get a burr grinder, that way you will be able to get the best out of you espresso machine.
I dont know how much it cost in your place but, for entry level I would say get a Gaggia MM, or sunbeam.

if it is over your buget, then just try to get any burr coffee grinder, and get one that you have most adjustable setting. Gaggia MM, I think have 10- 15? and sunbeam have 25

Do coffee grinders make alot of noise?

its kinda late where I live and I want to make some coffee before work but I dont want to wake up my cousin who is sleeping right next to the kitchen on the couch.

So do they make alot fo noise or are they quiet, if not, any other ideals of what I can do. I dont have money for coffee at the gas station… [gotta spend it on gas ]

Ive encountered this as well when I have had a guest sleeping on the couch. Yes, they can be a bit loud but there is nothing like a cup of fresh ground coffee in the morning. One great solution I found was to either A. add your beans and take it to your room for the less than 10 secs it takes to grind a few cups worth of beans or B. wet a decent size dishtowel, wring out the excess, and wrap it around the grinder to dampen the noise to a much quieter level.
